My heart sank, and my face became flushed, "Apparently a pipe or something let go in our bathroom wall today. Our kitchen got flooded."
Am I reading this? Is this actually happening at my house. I envision an actual sunken living room. Philip and Geoffrey look like the Sea Monkeys on the back of old comic books. They're lounging about in their undersea sandcastle debating Nick Lowe songs, only I can't understand what they're saying because they're speaking atlantean (and I don't know mean that they're from Georgia).
They stop in mid conversation and look at me, point and say (in a MerManesque voice), "This is all your fault, surfacedweller." Then moray eels entangle me and hold me prisoner while Philip and Geoffrey go back to discussing the first time they heard Nick Lowe.
Ok maybe not, but still I feel like everything I touch in the house lately goes to shit, no matter what I do. Last night I felt great for taking out the trash and replacing the batteries in the smoke alarms and making sure they worked. Today I feel awful because, well we have running water, but our bathroom flooded.
I have the Midas touch in reverse.
