I liked working at the Banff Centre for the Arts Library a lot. It was almost entirely due to the acerbic wit of my boss. Quite a number of people were turned off by him, but I thought his humour was endearing. I suppose I admire people who sport a 'I don't take no shit' attitude.

Two summers ago I attended a staff party at his house. I felt a little awkward and uncomfortable because I feel like a fish out of water when it comes to situations where work and pleasure cross over.

I started feeling a little more confident as the night wore on. My boss's four year old daughter was snapping photos of all the party guests. I leaned over to him and said,

"She could be the next Diane Thorneycroft"

"Or Robert Mapplethorpe. You never know" He replied.

Here's a video of Asscribed (a band I was in from 1998-2002) playing our last show in the summer of 2002.
You'll most likely need divX to play it. The audio is very poor, but it's kind of a neat document of something that was.

In order to get my mind off how dissatisfied I am with work right now, I've decided to divert my attention. I'm focusing on four things exclusively : the election, Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, and rad video clips like the following :

Ian MacKaye doing 'Vowel Movement' (Thanks to Jeff)

Vic Chestnutt doing 'I've Been Working on the Railroad'

Ed Broadbent doing 'Guess Who's Back' (Thanks to Elise)

I also wish I was getting called back for the other job I applied for. It looks like it ain't happenin. Thank god for Vowel Movements.
