In honour of Data from the Goonies :

Wacky Patent of the Month

To tide you over, here's a friend review of one, Lachlan Neil Charles MacDonald

Underwater Guatemalan Drug Lords*

Lachie MacDonald aka 'Lach Dawg' and I were schooled on the streets of Ben Eoin so we're like Tight Bros from Way Back When 'cept we aren't in that band (many other bands, yes but that one, no). Lachie and I came up through the scene together and playa hataz have been trying to fade us for years, but in all honesty they cannot front. Lachie has convinced me that it's ok to like dogs even though at heart I'm a cat person (no jokes). He also taught me you don't have to own a rebel flag to like country music.

*the name of a game I made up when I was 12 that essentially involves holding your breath underwater while thrashing about and trying to kick the person closest to you while doing backflips.

It's hard to believe anything Ann Coulter says about the Vietnam war or anyone's service record, as she's already proved to most of the Western world that she has no clue about who participated in it.

Ann Coulter seems to be having a field day with the fallout of Ward Churchill's Sept 11th essay.

Read Churchill's essay, "'Some People Push Back' On the Justice of Roosting Chickens" here

It's hard to see any merit in an article entitled 'Not Crazy Horse, Just Crazy' written by Coulter, it's worth reading, but it's not worth taking it seriously. It's merely an attempt to discredit Churchill by calling his character into question rather than dealing with any of the issues presented in Churchill's essay. It's ridiculous that anything Coulter writes is considered journalism. She's at best a partisan pundit and at worst a loud mouth hack whose writing drips of racism. When this originally appeared on Coulter's site, it was called 'The Little Injun that Could'.

Ted Rall presents a more balanced look at an issue that really should be a non-issue. Read censor this column, it's a surprising piece from Rall, balanced and levelheaded and not that inflammatory.

The world doesn't stop when Ann Coulter says that

"This is a religious war, not against Islam but for Christianity, for a Christian nation," Coulter said. "When this nation was founded, there was nothing like it. Our founders said there is a God and we are all equal before God. The ideal of equality and tolerance is like nothing that has ever existed in the world before. That, too, is a Christian value. The concept of equality, especially when it comes to gender equality, was not invented by Gloria Steinem -- it was invented by Jesus Christ. As long as people look long enough, they will always come to Christianity."

So why does the world stop when Churchill suggests that the September 11th attacks were an "inevitable blowback in response to US global terrorism and imperialist policies against Islamic nations" http://www.pressaction.com/news/weblog/full_article/best02102005/?

Simply put, it's because Ward Churchill is seen as not loving America.
Oh yeah and some people think he's a doofus.

"The gross distortions of what I actually said can only be viewed as an attempt to distract the public from the real issues at hand and to further stifle freedom of speech and academic debate in this country." -Ward Churchill
