Fuck You, Pay Me
I've fallen asleep at a lot of movie theatres in this city. I think my favourite to fall asleep in is the Oxford. The seats are comfortable and the balcony provides a lot of legroom. 'Winged Migration' was a great film to sleep through. Not because it was particularly boring, but because it didn't feature any loud explosions or raucous laughter from the people in the audience. I got up on some much needed rest that night. I could barely wake up when it was time to go. On the weekend I slept through 'Evil Dead' and the last 10 minutes of 'The Exorcist'. One minute Father Merrin and Father Karras were alive, the next they were face down in their own blood.
Sometimes I think the only thing I'm good at is sleeping. I don't mean that in any sort of morbid 'every hour I sleep brings me one hour closer to the day that this shit doesn't matter', but I mean it in a 'sleeping is like a one way time machine' and maybe the next time I wake up rent will be abolished (or the concept of paying on time will be accepted universally) and we'll all be living on the moon.
