This weekend I went to a Chinese New Year celebration. The agenda read: 8:45 : Super Time
That's a pretty big order to fill.

The crowd was pretty diverse and I'd estimate that about 60 to 70% of those in attendance were non-white. This wouldn't be that remarkable if this were any place other than Cape Breton. Cape Breton's biggest claim to racial diversity is that a few people from there have asian and black friendsters. I figured that I was in for a night of cultural diversity, a night of learning if you will.

Super Time got delayed and people were growing a little antsy about the lack of food. I was beginning to think that we'd never get to : 10:15 : Beginning Play Games . Was this such a Super Time?

The moment the food entered the dining hall, a large line quickly formed with various political figures, professors, and students all jostling for the best position. It reminded me a lot of lining up to return to class after recess in elementary.

I said before that the make up of the dinner was about 60/40 (non-whites/whites), the make up of the head of the line was about 90/10 (whites/non-whites).

One thing I learned on this night of cultural diversity is that white people are fucking gluttons.

I'm sure someone will tell me that "non-whites just don't like to eat, that's all."
