Highlights of Birthdays Gone By

Jan 17th, 1988My name was announced on the radio as the winner of the CJCB Save-Easy cake. Headed to school feeling pretty proud of myself (what a maroon), ended up being pushed off the largest snow bank, hitting my head off ice and required stitches. Still had a pretty good birthday party replete with Spiderman napkins and tablecloth.

Jan 16th, 1998Got dumped by the girl who I lost my virginity to. She promised to buy me a record player as a birthday present.
Jan 17th, 1998My birthday, no record player. Played a show with the band I was in, Crazy Knees Carbone. Went to Club Capri for the first time, won twenty bucks at the casino. Began a two month period where all I listened to was Green Day's first album.

Jan 17th, 1999My parents went away so Amanda and I ate ice cream cake and humped. We might have even humped in my parents room with a statuette of Mary (the mother of god!) watching over us.

Jan 17th, 2000My parents didn't send me a card, they claim it was lost in the mail, I know different. P and K Black have no love for the MRB. Dyed my hair auburn for the first time and ate at Pizza Hut.

Jan 17th, 2001Lyndall promised me a crazy carpet (or is it KRAZY KARPET?) for my birthday, it never appeared. I still have the rain check somewhere. Travelled to Wolfville on the bus and Sherri gave me a Cure record (among other things) for my birthday. Ended up getting snowed in for an extra day. I finished Huckleberry Finn.

Jan 17th, 2002Had debated moving to Regina to live with Kerri, ended up getting dumped on the 10th by Kerri, plans were quickly quashed. Spent most of my birthday waiting for her to call 'to talk things over'. Later on that week saw the Attack play in Calgary for the first time. One of my favourite shows.

Jan 17th, 2003Sang 'You Shook Me All Night Long' at karaoke. After karaoke I went out into the parking lot, turned to a guy and said "Ever play Grand Theft Auto?", opened up the door of the car nearest me, sat down behind the wheel and pretended to drive it.

Jan 17th, 2004Another Pizza Hut celebration followed by a night at Hunter St where Gerry permitted me to have a cake fight in his house with Claudette. Robin gave me a beetle print.

So in tribute to Gerry,
I'm posting birthday suggestions.
