"Sometimes I get so caught up"

I stumbled through the streets laughing as I fell and shouting wahoo as the wind, blowing from behind me, forced me to turn my walk into a half decent run.

It was about 3 blocks before I actually saw any sign of life. Blizzard like conditions make comrades out of complete strangers. Maybe it's that need to share that "wow this is pretty crazy" look with someone else, I'm not sure. I do know that it makes for same rather stilted, awkward, and forced conversations. Maybe it's like Melissa said, I like the sound of my own voice. Regardless, I found myself allowing awkward conversations with strangers to carry on longer than they should have,
"I never thought I'd see a front end loader stuck in a snowbank in downtown Halifax before"

"uh shit yeah me neither...(c'mon Mark, c'mon boy, think of something to say, you can do it)"

"Yeah, it's pretty crazy!"

"uh...yeah...uh...."

"Well anyway..."

"..."

Just painful to partake in, remember, write and then read. I'm dumber for having taken part in it. The sad thing is it was one of about a half dozen similar exchanges I had today with strangers. I didn't run into anyone on the streets I knew until Agricola. I think what's worse is that I didn't even attempt awkward conversation, I just felt too stupid (for a number of reasons). I think it's odd that I have no qualms about looking gawky and oafish when making first impressions, but I'm too self concious to say anything more than
"Ow! The snow stings my eyes!" to someone I know.

I suppose I think words will fuck things up.
