I took a test today to see if I was savy enough to work at a library. Despite my usual boasts about test scores, I doubt I scored an eleventy billion on it. I'm pretty sure I didn't even get a hundred. I should have revealed to them that I bought new pants for the interview and I was up before 9 am and everything.

I'm not sure how the interview went. I'm not really good at gauging things like that. It's only lately that I'm beginning to be able to ascertain whether females are interested in me or not. Anyway getting back to library of congress matters, I just hope that I was funny in the interview. I don't care if I come off as lacking in experience, lacking in knowledge, or lacking in etiquette, as long as I don't come off as not being funny.

Speaking of which today someone signed out a book on the Weimar Republic and I remarked, "This Weimar Republic, it sounds familiar, were they like important or something?"

And then the guy responded matter of factly, "It was the German empire between World Wars I and II."

"Yeah, I knew that I was just trying to make a joke."

Maybe I need to find a new (more comedic) line of work. If I'm using empires that haven't exist for over 60 years as my source material, I'm in trouble.
