This will probably be deleted by tomorrow as it strikes me as a particularly useless post.

I'm looking for websites/zines on libraries and library workers. I have been reading a number of library publications lately and though they're an interesting resource, they're a little too stuffy and academic for my liking. Please don't recommend the Street Librarian (link on the right), the Modified Librarian, or the Ska Librarian as I'm familiar with both those sites. One neat thing I found while searching the Ska Librarian (http://www.geocities.com/WestHollywood/Village/3497/) website was this, The Gay League of America which basically serves as a reference guide to Gay superheroes. It's surprisingly well written and not as trivial as it may seem. There's surprisingly few well rounded gay characters appearing in any pop culture medium and it's interesting to see how comic characters measure up. You may never see someone on the scale of Captain America come out of the closet, but it is nice to see characters like Northstar move away from the 'fairy' stereotype(I swear to god, there was an origin story that recounted how he was an extra-dimensional fairy...this has since been rightly ignored). Northstar hasn't been entirely fleshed out, but at least he hasn't been totatlly ignored and I suppose that's a start. At least he isn't an annoying sexless yuppie like Will.

I once searched diaryland and added all the people who had the word library in their description to my favorite diary list and unceremoniously drafted them into my library club (edited from 'posse', this ain't no livejournal) that up until then included only me, my friend Amelia, and author/librarian, Ken Sparling (only he doesn't know it yet). I would suppose that he qualified more as a patron saint than a member. Past membership has included some girl named Kate, but then she decided that snorting white shit up her nose was more important than shelf reading so she got booted. Priorities must be kept in order, either you're about the library of congress or illegal narcotics, take your pick.

I guess I just need some inspiration right now as work is bordering on the mundane and it'd be great to read something that gets me excited about libraries again so that I'll be able to last at this place until March. This is sort of a neat start Anarchist Librarians, but it seems to link to the same resources every other 'alternative' libraries website lists and links to.
