I was thinking, I hope somebody in Major League Baseball says something dumb soon so I can forget about the election and be outraged by that for a while, but no such luck. Carl Everett hasn't said anything about dinosaurs not existing lately, and Todd Jones hasn't complained about every gay man wanting to sleep with him.
I couldn't find any examples of athletes doing or saying anything incredibly exciting in the last week, so I thought I'd do some research on athletes who became politicians. My half hearted research attempt came up with these two lists :
