I saw two Expos games when I was in Montreal. The first one was a blow-out and the Expos lost 9-0. Russ Oritz (Braves) took a perfect game into the 6th inning and Andruw Jones hit a grand slam homerrun. The second game was a lot better. The Expos won 4-3 in 12 innings on a Tony Batista RBI double (he had been 0 for 26 previous to that at bat).

I'm sure noone is that interested in the game so I'll spare everyone any more specifics about the game.

The Expos, in an attempt to increase attendance, offered a promotion to the first 5,000 fans at the game. The promotion was a Larry Parrish Russian doll.

I've already come across about a half dozen listings on E-bay for these things. Most of them are going for about 12-14 dollars plus shipping and handling.

It was a pretty exciting set of games to see. I hadn't been to the 'Big O' since I was a kid and it was really invigorating to see such a great baseball game where every inning counted. I clapped, I cheered, I booed, I hooted, I even jumped up.

I ended up buying a black Expos cap (I originally wrote 'I ended up buy a black Expos cap') and a Quebec Nordiques ringer t-shirt. I feel silly getting excited about such things, but honestly it's what makes me happiest right now...buying things! Baseball of course.
