I like the idea of not waiting on people at my new job, it affords me the opportunity to listen to music while I work which I haven't been able to do since I worked at Pita Boys.

Last night I decided to be a keener so I laid out my clothes for today a full 8-9 hours in advance. It doesn't mean I'll dress any nicer, but it means I do a whole lot less panicking in the morning. I also decided I'd prepare myself for the day to come by tracking down a pair of my head phones. I found a box of walkie talkies, rechargeable batteries, and a dictaphone. At the bottom lay my shattered headphones.

On my lunch break, wearing my clothes that were carefully laid out the night before, I raced down to Radio Shack er Circuit City er the Source er the Source by Circuit City. I shouldn't have gone, I shouldn't have gone...

"Oh so this is off that album?"

"Yeah, man the album with 'Butterfly'!"

They can't be, who does that...seriously they can't be

"Oh man you're right about this..."

"Yeah, I know, it has MAD BASS!"

I can't believe I'm stumbling into this insanity

I tried to focus on the task at hand, finding decently priced, quality head phones without having to ask either of the two employees to take some time off from their experiments in MAD BASS to help me. No such luck. The store was a bit of a mess and I panicked.

"Uhmmm excuse me where are the head phones?"

"Right on the other side of this rack"

"Ok thanks!"

I emerged unscathed from the first interaction, now I just had to find some headphones quickly, hand over money for them and exit the story. I had being indecisive.

"So what exactly are you looking for?"

"Oh just some headphones for listening to music at work"

"Oh so then..."

(grabbing a pair of Sennheiser earphones/earbuds/whatever) "Oh I'll take these!"

We proceed to the cash. We make chit chat, he mumbles something about the store stereo and I ask him what he says...

"Oh just talking about this song man, they're some MAD BASS in this song..."

and then proudly he says what I have been hoping he would not say

"It's Crazy Town, this album has some MAD BASS"

So who's the chump, the guy who owns a Crazy Town album, or the guy who bought headphones and an extended warranty from him?
