Yesterday I collected three paycheques, one from the Canadian Media Guild, one from the Canadian Parents for French, and one from the Coast. I did a survey on French Immersion for CPF, I picket for the CMG, and I deliver the local weekly, the Coast, every Thursday now. Before anyone gets the idea that I am better off not working or that I am taking daily swims in a Scrooge McDuck like vault, I work as many hours as I did for the CBC, make significantly less, and have no benefits.
Reading the paper can be kind of frustrating during the lockout, there are so many stories that we at work should be following, researching, chasing, and we can't. I know how to picket now, that's what I do, that's my thing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I saw the 'Aristocrats' last night and felt like a bit of a jerk for laughing so hard at Sarah Silverman's piece.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last Thursday I saw a 30 something man eating big mac's with his son on Spring Garden. They were sporting matching 'Vote for Pedro' shirts and FDNY hats. Haven't we all suffered enough?
