Turning 28 was pretty a-ok. I guess it really doesn't require much effort, just managing to avoid cancer and cars for a year.

Birthdays are basically all about what you get. There's also about friends too and usually it's the day, more than any other, that I am wondering why I am not in touch with certain. Usually the blame rests on my shoulders and that makes me a little disappointed in myself. I am just terrible at keeping in touch. I let days between phone calls turn into weeks and after a while I just think that some people are better off without me around.

But now let's get on to the gifts:

-First season of Extras (Kara)
-The Jerk (Kara)
-Sam Peckinpah biography (Kara)
-Montreal Canadiens wristband (Mullane)
-Mooseheads tickets to three games (Gerry)
-Lunch at Dodo's (Ron Bates)

The best present I received this year, and most likely the best present I have ever received, came from Kara.
Kara spent the last couple of weeks building me a diorama. But not just any diorama. She built me a diorama combining Freaks and Geeks with Quantum Leap. Basically the concept of the diorama is, what would happen if Sam Beckett (Quantum Leap) leaped into the body of Sam Weir (Freaks and Geeks).

I'll post pictures soon. Any words I would use could not do it justice.

Pizza Hutt on Young St on Friday, drinks at North St and then karaoke at Michael's.
Saturday night has Die Brucke playing with Old Man Luedecke, Windom Earle, Brent Randall and B.A. Johnston at Gus's Pub.

Comments:
